Solihull Arts Complex

The Studio is a multi-purpose room which can be used for meetings, workshops, small scale performances, information events and conferences. The venue is equipped with multi media presentation equipment, and a PA and lighting systems.

The hire charge for the Studio is on a session basis. Two levels of charges apply:

- The local rate – applied to not for profit/charity organisations
- Commercial rate – applied to commercial ventures

Please note the Studio hire charges quoted are non-vatable, however if  your event is a performance or requires technical support it will be subject to VAT at 20%.

Studio Performance Hire Information

Your hire period is per session, or per week. Hire charges include; Technical support, Front of House and Encore Bar staffing for all performances.

For equipment hire, ticketing, brochure entry and marketing see separate charges. 

Please note all hire prices for performances and events requiring technical support in the Studio are inclusive of VAT.

Prices subject to change on 1st April each year. 

Performances will be charged at the full session rate. Additional hours required outside the normal session times for get ins/get outs or rehearsals will be charged pro rata at the relevant session price.

Equipment Hire Packages 

Performing Rights Society (PRS)

For all events where music is played a Performing Rights Society charge will be passed on to the hire based upon a percentage of the net box office as follows:

- Variety/pantomime 2% of net Box Office
- Popular music 4% of net box office plus VATClassical music 5.5% of net Box Office
- Dance displays to pre-recorded backing music – set fee of £45 plus VAT per performance

Selling Tickets

All tickets for events at The Core Theatre must be produced by the venue's Box Office system, hirers cannot supply their own tickets. There is a ticketing administration charge of £45 per performance. This includes:

- Supply of tickets sales from our Box Office
- Inclusion of your event on The Core Theatre's website
- An online ticketing facility.

There is no commission charge on tickets sold, but credit card commission is deducted at source where applicable.

Please note that all additional charges are inclusive of VAT at 20%.

Merchandise

Any sales made at the venue as part of show merchandising will be subject to the following commission:

- 10% if hirer sells goods
- 15% if Core Theatre staff sell goods

Catering

The fully licensed Encore eatery can provide a range of catering options to compliment your event from pre or post show parties, buffets and beverages for meetings, to drinks receptions. 

Encore is open every day from 9am - 4pm Monday to Saturday (opens 10am Wednesday).
Encore will open for Evening, Sundays and Bank Holiday performances.
