Summer Fun at The Core

Summer Fun at The Core
posted 18 Jun 2019

Join us for a summer of fun at The Core, Solihull!

The Core is hosting a variety of activities throughout the summer holidays, which will be ideal for keeping the kids entertained.

Kids can join the Summer Reading Challenge in The Core Library, and earn rewards for reading 6 books throughout the summer. The 2019 theme is Space Chase, an out-of-this-world adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, and there will be a variety of cool FREE space-themed events in The Core Library to take part in.

Get crafty this summer with a range of fun art workshops in the Courtyard. Splash out with colour and create wild and wonderful art in Tropical Tuesdays! Or go dotty for dots, and learn how to create beautiful folk-it designs or Indian block printing! Plus SO MUCH MORE – there’s something creative for everyone at The Core this holiday, from kids to grandparents!

We have some exciting shows lined up as well – our fantastic park shows are back, and this year families can catch David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny LIVE in Brueton Park on 31 July & 1 August. Bring picnics and blankets along to fully enjoy the outdoor show of the year!

If the kids can’t get enough of Little Mix’s new track Bounce Back, then tribute act We Love Little Mix is the perfect holiday treat – on 29 August four talented girls perform Little Mix’s best songs, with replica dance moves and costumes.

Prepare to be impressed by the magical Morgan and West, as they return to The Core on 30 August with even more magic tricks than before!

If you know any young people who would rather be on the stage than in the audience, then our Young Actors Summer School is the perfect opportunity for them to discover their inner thespian! Over 5 days (starting 29 July) young people aged 8-16 will work with actors, and get the chance to participate in the family musical performance Treasure Island on Friday 2 August.
