Carer Seats at The Core Theatre

The Core Theatre works in partnership with Solihull Carers Centre. Carer's cards are issued by them, and this then entitles the registered Carer to a free ticket in order to accompany our audience members to shows and events within the venue.  Once the Carer's card number has been registered with our Box Office, the customer records are amended to show this and it's not necessary to keep producing the card each time you attend.

When registering for free Carer's seats, or requesting a free Carer's ticket for the first time, you will need to scan/photograph the card and send to thecoretheatre@solihull.gov.uk. This only needs to be done once as details will then be kept on record. Equivalent cards from other areas i.e. Birmingham or Coventry are accepted as part of this process. For details on Solihull Carer's Centre - see their website at www.solihullcarers.org

If you are not resident in the local area, there are other cards you may already have, or can easily obtain, to enable you to access free Carer seats. Our carer seat policy is available to view online or download. Please call Box Office if you wish to discuss this.

Concessions
Concession tickets are available for many shows for:- Senior Citizens, Children (up to 16), Full-Time students, Disabled and Unwaged. Please state which concession you require at time of booking.  Concessions and discounts are not offered for all shows and are at the discretion of promoters of shows and not the venue itself. Staff may request proof of entitlement for certain concessions.

Unreserved Seating
This means you do not have a numbered seat, ticketholders choose their seats on a ‘first come’ basis when admitted into the Studio or Theatre for the show. Other than wheelchair users, you cannot guarantee or pre-select your preferred seat.

Ticketing Terms and Conditions:

  • Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded except in the case of a cancelled show* see below.

  • Duty Managers retain the right to refuse admission and latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.
  • Photography/audio-visual recording of any kind during a performance is strictly forbidden.
  • If a performance is cancelled or abandoned for reasons beyond the venue’s control liability is limited to the price of the ticket.
  • Children over 18 months must have their own ticket/seat - this is due to fire regulations.
  • Babies in arms under 18 months are welcome in the venue, but parents should temporarily leave the auditorium to settle their child if they distract or disturb other members of the audience. • Anyone who knows or believes they have symptoms of Covid-19 MUST NOT attend the venue or any shows or courses. Contact Box Office to discuss this as soon as possible.

* Due to the immense disruption to theatres caused by Covid-19, we do now allow a refund when a cancelled show has been rescheduled to a date you're unable to attend.  Please read below about rescheduled show dates.

Rescheduled Shows - Covid-19

Since March 2020, over 80 shows have been cancelled due to lockdown and government regulations that did not permit theatres to reopen.  Box Office staff have written to or called all customers affected advising them that they have the choice of a ticket refund, or they can keep their tickets, which would remain valid for the new show.  Customers who confirmed at that point that they wished to attend, received a confirmation letter from us, advising that they have 30 days to change their mind.  This is to enable the venue and the promoter to continue selling any remaining tickets for the new date.

Please do not ask for a refund (after the above 30 days) if you subsequently find this date is not suitable nearer the time as you have chosen to attend.  We recommend that ticketholders write the new date in their diaries and on the tickets to ensure they're aware of the new date and can attend.

If the show is subsequently cancelled and rescheduled a second time, all ticketholders will again have the option of refunding or keeping their tickets on the same basis as above.

We ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time when we are unable to re-open, it's only with the support of our loyal regional audiences, that we'll withstand the uncertain times ahead.
