Holi is a festival that celebrates spring, love, and new life through vibrant colour. Although originating in India, the festival has been widely adopted around the world. It’s also sometimes called the “Festival of Love” because on this day people unite, forgetting all bad feeling towards each other. The festival is perhaps most recognised by the fun activity of throwing powder paint on each other.
Join us for a fun family day to celebrate Holi–the Festival of Colour. Art at the Heart CIC has worked with the local community to shape a series of exciting family friendly creative activities. Funded by the National Lottery and supported by SMBC, we’ll be presenting at The Core, Solihull 12th March 2023, 10am - 3.00pm.
Come and experience new interpretations of a traditional event - You can take part in Splat Art, The Big Community Colour Weave, Bubble Art, Spin Art, Crazy Paisley Patternmaking.
Help us create giant artworks including Human Spirographs as well as little artworks such as friendship bracelets. Add your creativity to our Holi Habitats, where giant flowers grow, and tropical birds hang out.
We’ll be running Indian Dance Workshops and a Disco for kids. Splash paint in 3D space and then walk through your artworks in our Virtual Reality headsets.
Buy an event entrance ticket - all activities are included. Be prepared to get messy and colourful!
