We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Theatre Technician to join our existing professional team of full and part time staff at the Core Theatre in Solihull. Hours will include evenings and weekends, but we can be flexible, with working hours based around your personal commitments.

The Core Theatre is a thriving multi-purpose arts venue at the heart of Solihull town centre, comprising of a 336 seat raked theatre, gallery and a smaller multi-use Studio seating up to 130.

Our busy venue hosts a varied mix of professional and amateur events including music, drama, comedy and dance. Events are held almost every night, ranging from small local drama groups to national commercial promoters, who find the Core Theatre a thriving, successful venue with loyal and supportive audiences. We also run a highly successful pantomime show over Christmas and a programme of weekly daytime classes and activities.

As a Core Theatre Technician, you will:

• Work as part of the Theatre Technical Team providing technical and front of house services for The Core.
• Be responsible for the lighting and sound design including the rigging and focusing of lights.
• Set up of theatre equipment including stage sets, PA systems, and ICT equipment for events
• Ensure suitable Health & Safety risk assessments are conducted and recorded.

You will have previous technical experience of working in a theatrical or venue environment, be able work on your own initiative and be an excellent communicator. You will also be able to work at height, and due to the nature of the role, be able to work evening, weekends and bank holidays.
