August is packed with entertainment at The Core, with an exciting programme of live comedy, music, family adventures, outdoor theatre and creative activities to enjoy throughout the summer holidays.

The month begins on Saturday 1 August with Funny to The Core, featuring acclaimed comedian Stephen K Amos. Expect an evening of top-quality stand-up, brilliant support acts and plenty of laughs as one of Britain's best-loved comedians headlines this popular comedy club.

Music fans can look forward to The Rod Stewart Songbook on Sunday 2 August, celebrating the legendary singer's career with an outstanding live tribute. Enjoy timeless hits including Sailing, Maggie May, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy, Baby Jane and many more.

On Saturday 8 August, it's time to celebrate at Queers & Cheers: Teena Bizkit's Pride Music Bingo Brunch. Expect camp classics, music bingo, fabulous prizes, bottomless drinks and plenty of laughs as the fabulous Teena Bizkit returns to The Core.

Film lovers are in for a treat on Sunday 9 August with Grease With Wine. Sing along to the beloved movie musical while enjoying five specially selected summer wines - or non-alcoholic alternatives - for the ultimate feel-good afternoon.

Outdoor theatre returns to beautiful Brueton Park on Wednesday 12 August as Illyria presents Shakespeare's much-loved comedy As You Like It. Pack a picnic, bring a chair or blanket, and settle in for an enchanting evening under the summer sky. Then on Saturday 22 August, The Tales of Peter Rabbit brings Beatrix Potter's beloved characters to life in a charming outdoor adventure.

On Wednesday 26 August, there are two fantastic screenings to choose from. Fans of musical theatre can enjoy a Wicked Sing-Along, with lyrics on screen so everyone can join in with the songs from the smash-hit fantasy musical film. Alternatively, discover Gamer Girls as part of the Core’s Hong Kong Cinema programme.

There's also plenty to keep younger visitors busy throughout the school holidays, including summer holiday workshops in filmmaking, theatre, singing, storytelling, circus skills and glass fusing - giving children the chance to learn new skills, make friends and have fun in a creative environment.
