Cinema at The Core Theatre is in full swing with a packed film programme in September!
On Monday 15 September, a killer double bill kicks off Murder Mystery season with Rear Window (2pm) and Knives Out (7pm). Widely regarded as one of Alfred Hitchcock’s best films and one of the greatest suspense thrillers of all time, Rear Window follows a wheelchair-bound photographer who becomes convinced one of his neighbours has committed murder.
Knives Out is the first in a clever, funny and charming series of whodunnits from director Rian Johnson – enjoy the original Benoit Blanc mystery on the big screen before the third entry ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ premieres in November!
Murder Mystery season continues on Wednesday 24 September with Charade, a classic comedy thriller starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Romance and intrigue ensue in Paris as a woman is pursued by several men who want to get their hands on a fortune her murdered husband had stolen.
Then on Monday 29 September, get wrapped up in tense courtroom drama Juror #2, a 2024 legal thriller directed by cinema legend Clint Eastwood. While serving as a juror in a high-profile murder trial, family man Justin Kemp finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma - one he could use to sway the verdict.
Also this month, enjoy the latest in The Core Theatre’s Hong Kong Cinema series with Alone No More (Tue 16 Sep), a Cantonese-language drama about one lonely man’s chance encounter with a dog that renews his sense of purpose – stay for a post-film Q&A with the writers and directors of the film!
Make sure to catch the next National Theatre Live screening at The Core Theatre – NT Live: Inter Alia (Wed 24 Sep) promises to be a searing examination of modern motherhood and masculinity from the team behind Prima Facie.
