9 to 5: The Musical is a laugh-out-loud comedy based on the iconic 1980 film, with an original score by country legend Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. Set in a bustling 1970s office, the story follows three smart, determined women, Violet, Judy, and Doralee, who are fed up with their sexist, egotistical boss. When a series of outrageous events leads them to take matters into their own hands, chaos and hilarity ensue.
Packed with vibrant choreography and big-hearted humour, the show features a catchy soundtrack including the unforgettable title number “9 to 5,” the empowering anthem “Shine Like the Sun,” and the heartfelt ballad “Get Out and Stay Out.”
A celebration of friendship, female empowerment, and finding your voice, 9 to 5: The Musical is both timely and timeless. It’s a feel-good ride full of sass, charm, and Dolly’s signature sparkle. The show is presented by Queensbridge Musical Theatre Society, an award winning amateur group based in Kings Heath, producing shows since 1948. They are a vibrant and friendly society!
