Art At The Heart Community Exhibition

Regrettably this exhibition has been cancelled.

Regrettably due to the closure of The Core and the Courtyard Gallery within it, this exhibition will not now take place.  Once the Covid-19 Regulations allow us to reopen, we’ll make every attempt to find an alternative exhibition date as we’d love to see the exhibition and we know the hard work and creativity that went into the planning.

***

The exhibition celebrates the creativity and uniqueness of our community artists from ArtClubs, YouthArts, ArtLab and Adults classes. A special 2 week programme of ArtLab and ArtClub in the Holidays will run alongside the exhibition (visit Whats On for full details).

Art at the Heart’s Aims:

At its simplest, our aim is to get more people making art and culture every day.

Why? The impact of arts education extends far beyond the acquisition of technical skills and nurtures an open mindset that has many other benefits.

We use project based arts learning to develop design thinking–a problem solving process that balances creativity with critical thinking skills. Failure is embraced as a positive step in the design process. This builds resilience. The magic is that the design thinking process is applicable to anything–any career, any topic, any problem.

With our design heads on, we’re rethinking traditional systems for health benefits, education benefits, and community benefits and empowering communities to use design thinking for themselves. This enables us all to contribute to social mobility and equality of opportunity.
