The Core is delighted to host an evening of fantastic Jazz music on Friday 26 July as part of the Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival. We'll be joined by two brilliant bands, Jump, Jive and Wail and Calypso Moon.
Jump, Jive and Wail
Based in Halifax and very busy throughout the North, Jump, Jive and Wail take their name from the Louis Prima hit – which is a fair indication of their musical style. For red hot jump and jive this is the band!
Calypso Moon
The UK’s favourite all-women jazz band, Calypso Moon, are enchanting audiences everywhere with their uplifting music and astounding talent! Singer Eleanor Dattani is supported by saxophonist Alex Clarke, bassist Amy Coates and drummer Lydia Granville. Swinging their way through The Great American Songbook with class and style and recalling the joy and romance of a previous age, these accomplished musicians honour the queens of jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday with their own magic touch!
