Make Your Own Glass Suncatcher - Fun for the Whole Family!

Looking for a creative activity to enjoy together? Come and try glass fusing as a family in this fun, relaxed session at The Core!

In this 1-hour taster, children - supported by a parent or guardian - will get to experience the magic of working with coloured glass, creating their very own beautiful glass suncatcher to take home and hang in a sunny window. No experience needed - just drop in and get creative!

Melissa will be on hand throughout to guide you both through the process, making it a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for the whole family.

What will we do?

In this hands-on family session, your child will:

  • Explore coloured glass - choosing colours and pieces to make your design completely your own
  • Arrange and layer glass - learning how different pieces of glass fuse together in the kiln
  • Create a glass suncatcher - a gorgeous keepsake to hang at home and catch the light beautifully

Melissa will take care of the kiln firing in her studio, so you can focus on the fun and creative parts together!

What’s included?

Everything is provided - just turn up and enjoy! Each session includes:

  • Glass materials - a selection of coloured glass, frit, and decorative media to use in your suncatcher
  • Full use of all tools and equipment, with safety guidance provided throughout
  • Expert support from Melissa Keskinkilinc, on hand to help every step of the way
  • A finished glass suncatcher - this will need collecting from The Core once fired
