Enjoy a triple bill from Henry's Blueshouse Solihull in the main auditorium at The Core Theatre Solihull, featuring Tipitina, The Whiskey Brothers and Chickenbone John & Ricky Cool.
Tipitina
Tipitina are the real thing. A hugely talented combo delivering the red hot and rocking music from the New Orleans of Dr John, James Booker, Professor Longhair and Fats Domino. Not a jazz band, but there’s enough jazz in there for Tipitina to be voted 3rd in the Best Small Group category of the 2017 British Jazz Awards, as well as runner-up in the jazz category of the 2017 Urban Music Awards.
The Whiskey Brothers
The Whiskey Brothers featuring Richard Heath, on vocals and mandolin and Gerry Smith on piano, perform old style acoustic blues with songs from the great American blues tradition as well as their own material. They believe in playing the blues in a simple, authentic and entertaining way, mixing well known classics with lesser known gems. Between them they have performed at hundreds of festivals and venues throughout the UK and Europe and beyond.
Chickenbone John & Harmonica Dave
Chickenbone John is Smethwick’s king of the Cigar Box Guitar, delivering raw, pure blues! He'll be joined by the one-and-only Ricky Cool. Ricky’s reputation for delivering great, danceable music precedes him! Ricky has toured with the likes of Billy Connolly, shared a stage with George Harrison and played alongside Robert Plant. Not to mention fronting one of Birmingham’s most popular combos, the legendary Ricky Cool and the Icebergs.
