Fun sessions run by national theatre school Playbox Theatre.

REGULAR WEEKLY SESSIONS  (Course fee applies)

​EARLY STAGERS (3-4 YEARS)

Early Stagers gives the opportunity for imagination to truly take flight, and offers children the chance to engage directly with theatre. Each workshop is fully themed and blends mime, movement, role play, voice, song and storytelling to create a fully-rounded experience for everyone in the group. Early Stagers has given 1,000s of children a springboard to confidence and encourages members to find their voice, as well as supporting educational growth.

​Playbox Theatre also runs weekly workshops for young people aged 5-19 years every Saturday at The Core Theatre. Theatre training includes improvisation, mime, movement, stage combat, physical theatre, voice and Shakespeare along with regular opportunities to perform both in Solihull and at our custom designed theatre The Dream Factory in Warwick. Playbox is the UK’s leading theatre for young people and this year celebrates 21 years at The Core.

These new classes are aimed at pre-schoolers - more details to follow.

Course on Thursdays 10.30am-11.30am from September. Cost of course £tbc.

DROP-IN SESSIONS

These events operate on a ‘pay-as-you-come’ basis, with no prior booking required. The below sessions only run during Playbox Theatre’s season dates.

MAGIC CARPET  (2-4 YEARS)

Take flight with Playbox Theatre! Children aged 2+ are invited to join us each week on the Magic Carpet. There are stories, songs, craft and role play… followed by a scrumptious lunch box from our theatre café. Parents are welcome to stay with children at this event, or to drop and pop out into the Core whilst their child socialises on the Magic Carpet!

​The class is followed after by an extra session (optional - pay weekly upon arrival) aiming to help mums and pre-schoolers to socialise and enjoy lunch together with a child lunch box (order on the day) included for a fun picnic-style social fun session after the Early Stagers class at 12-12.30pm.

Cost of Magic Carpet fun lunch £5 per child (includes lunch box).  Buy Magic Carpet tickets upon arrival at 10.30am so that your child's food box has been pre-ordered.
