Friendly class with tutor Marie Kennedy

Hatha is a subtle classical yoga which incorporates various asanas (postures) and is deepened with the use of pranayamas (breathing exercises) and meditation.

Created to bring both harmony and health, to mind and body, Hatha Yoga is a friendly class that focuses on improving physical health & fitness and also to help reduce stress. The class is safe and progressive, whilst catering for the individual needs of beginners to improvers.

If you have a health condition such as arthritis and struggle to get up and down off the floor, the exercises can be adapted to be performed in a seated position.

Changes to Fitness Classes – Covid -19 Regulations for your Safety

We’re delighted to start re-introducing our health and fitness courses, which will return with some important and very necessary changes.

Our first priority is to protect attendees, tutors and staff at The Core and so we’ve considered carefully how to manage our popular classes with minimal contact.  Change is always difficult for the first few weeks, so we would ask all attendees to read all sections below carefully and follow the new ways of attending designed to keep us all safe.

How do I book a place?

Places can only be booked and paid for by phone or online.  Call: 0121 704 6962 to buy a ticket and your name will be on the register at the start of the class – no tickets are issued.  You cannot pay cash when you arrive.

Visit www.thecoretheatresolihull.co.uk to book online and you will not be charged the normal online booking fee.  Your name will be on the register at the start of the class.  You can buy up to one week  before the class, subject to availability (max 12 places).

Please don’t attend a class unless you have pre-booked, we’re  expecting classes to be full.

If you wish to purchase more than one ticket for a class, you will be required to do this in separate transactions (giving participant names and contact details for each ticket) as we need an accurate register of all individual partipicants for Test and Trace purposes.

What new measures are in place?

Participants should wear a face mask to enter the building, once in an allocated space, masks can be removed. They must be worn when visiting toilets or leaving the building.

Participants should bring their own yoga mat and water bottle.

Classes are timed throughout the day to allow a thorough cleaning and ventilation regime.  We’ve allowed up to 1 hour between classes to allow us to fully ventilate the Studio, sweep and mop floors and wipe down furniture.  Hand gel will be available at the entrance to the building together with hand-washing signage.

What about social distancing?

Participants must attend no more than 15 mins prior to their activity to prevent any queuing.  Arrive already dressed for the class, there will be no changing on site. Please go straight into the Studio and find an allocated space. The doors will be held open on entrance and exit.   A register will show who has booked so tickets are not required.

We have allocated 3 metre squares on the Studio floor.  You should keep within your space and respect that others might be anxious to keep away from strangers, so may not wish to chat.  The maximum attendees in a fitness class will be 12.  Participant details will be held for Test and Trace purposes.

Toilets will have clear guidance on the number of people allowed in, plus a regular cleaning regime.
