Hot Flushed & High Notes - A Musical Celebration of Life After 50

A musical celebration of life after 50… and the occasional memory lapse.

Join singer, choir director and professional oversharer Anya Small for an evening of songs, stories and laughter, proving that getting older doesn’t mean getting quieter… it just means you need the loo more often.

Having spent over four decades on stage (starting at the Birmingham Hippodrome at the age of nine), and fifteen years leading hundreds of singers through the highs, lows and key changes of life with Pop Voices Choir, Anya has reached a significant milestone…

She’s fifty.

Armed with a microphone, a fan set permanently to 'hurricane', and absolutely no intention of ageing gracefully, Anya shares the soundtrack of her life through audience favourites, heartfelt memories and observations every woman of a certain age will recognise.

Expect:

Songs that mean something (and songs you secretly sing in the car).
Menopause moments and hot flushes with impeccable timing.
Tales of family life, friendship and surviving midlife with your sense of humour intact.

High notes that may or may not be followed by a sit down.
Reading glasses, emergency snacks and at least one story that starts with 'Back in my day…'

From performing professionally as a child to directing choirs of almost 500 voices, Anya has spent a lifetime helping others find their voice.

Now it’s her turn.

Whether you’re embracing your fabulous fifties, dreading them, or just wondering where you left your keys, Hot Flushed & High Notes is a feel-good night of music, laughter and a reminder that life really does get better with age…

Even if your knees disagree.

'Because growing older is compulsory… but growing up is entirely optional.'
