Tappin' In at The Core

Tappin' In Show and Share, featuring Chelmsley Wood Tappers and Sing Solihull

Tappin’ In at the Core Featuring Chelmsley Wood Tappers and Sing Solihull

Celebrating the stories of the West Midlands and the people who call it home, Tappin’ In is bringing people together to get the region tap dancing and chatting about themselves whilst having a good time. Tappin In' is part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival and Birmingham International Dance Festival.

In Solihull, a local group from Lily’s Tea Parlour in Chelmsley Wood have been taking part in the Tappin’ In, project, forming a group called the Chelmsley Wood Tappers.

In this exciting showcase, the Chelmsley Wood Tappers will be joined by Sing Solihull, The Core’s own community choir, in a joint performance on Wednesday 18 May, 7pm at The Core Theatre. Sing Solihull meet weekly at The Core every Thursday from 1 - 2pm. There will also be music upon arrival in the foyer performed by talented musicians from Solihull Music Service, now also based at The Core.

The Tappin’ In group from Chelmsley Wood will then be taking part in a wider regional performance project to take place in Brindley Place Birmingham on Saturday 18 June, performing the city's biggest tap lesson and Shim Sham!
